On a cloudless moon lit night an empty station stands silent, nature and its unforgiving tenacity having crept in and taken over large portions of the once proud structure; a crumbling relic of a bygone era. Somewhere in this forgotten building there’s a room, a room that once was filled with voices, laughter and cheer but is now left as silent as the shadows that creep across the floor. A soft wind blows through the broken glass of a window, the mini maelstrom churning up a tornado of dust as a soft hum starts to build. A sound of electricity reverberates through the long silent corridors just before a brilliant light explodes into existence, driving back the shadows in a furious display as the explosive sound of thunder shakes the ground beneath the structure. The structure shudders under the shockwave, dust and other debris loosen and fall to the floor around an old visitor.

Surrounded by churning dust and falling debris stands a dragon, his silver scales a bit duller than the last time he was here. The black tiger strips that travel down his neck and body shift and stretch as he adjusts his weight, taking in his surroundings through the dim haze of moon light. He takes a step forward, his body contorting and shifting as he transforms from dragon to human. Long silver robes drag the ground as walks, sweeping through the dust and debris on the floor, his greying hair falls loosely on his shoulders as he runs his fingers through the thick dust on the surface of a table. His fingers brush a round object as they pass by, causing him to stop and look down. On the table sits two rings, side by side and his expression softens as he reaches to pick them up. Looking down at the two golden rings in his hands he finds a seat, sending another cloud of dust into the air as he settles down.

“It has been a long time, Koi” he whispers as he strokes one of the rings with his free hand, before he looks up and into the darkness of this one familiar place. “I’ve returned”

It has been a long time since Boreasstar graced the internet, it was shut down 23 years ago. I don’t remember the exact day nor the reason it was shut down, but what I do remember is the time that was had here, the relationships formed and the love that was shared. I was not the original owner of the site, in fact I didn’t contribute to the site at all in its time. That honor goes to “Noin”, but she went by many names…I think her real name was Marissa…but I can’t exactly remember. At some point in the past she gave up the domain and I purchased it…I’ve had it for many years and for many years I’ve contemplated bringing back the site. Perhaps if I had done it sooner then it would have been more meaningful.

I am restoring what I can of the site, using the wayback machine I have gotten the last updates I could find, grabbed what images I could and I’m starting to put things back together as it was before it was shut down. This means, the site will not be modern…though the tech behind it is modern. I intend to keep it as pure as I can to its original look, before being shut down. There will be many sections of the site that I just can’t restore because the data has been lost. There will be many sections of the site that are defunct (such as the information about the chat room). I’m restoring what I can of this site, mainly, as memorial for all of us who were part of it. Some of those involved are no longer in this world, some have moved on in life and we all have grown.

In the coming days I will be working to restore what I can and adding a few extra things, such as a wall of memories. If you are here because you remember this site…then please contact me. If you are an original member of SAS, PLEASE contact me. You can reach me via email at dragon.nii.chan@gmail.com .

Until then…Ja ne, minna.

–Streak, faithful guard dragon of Boreasstar.
